How To Make Super Glue At Home?

You will need the following items:

  • Plastic container with a tight-shut lid (smaller to medium in size)
  • Styrofoam
  • Acetone or gasoline
  • A stirring tool

To make super glue at home, follow these steps:

  1. Have a container ready in which you can add the ingredients to make super glue at home
  2. Grab a piece of styrofoam
  3. Break down small pieces of styrofoam and add them to the plastic container
  4. Fill up the container with smaller pieces of styrofoam
  5. Add about one teaspoon or one tablespoon of acetone (or gasoline) into the container, depending on the size of your bowl or container – you will see that the styrofoam pieces will shrink
  6. Use a clean piece of wood or another tool to stir the styrofoam with the added acetone
  7. Keep stirring until the styrofoam pieces fully dissolve into the acetone, resulting in a liquid-like white-ish paste
  8. Prepare the two (or multiple) objects you wish to glue together, such as two pieces of wood
  9. Apply the glue paste over one surface, spreading across the whole surface that needs to get glued
  10. Attach the other surface to the glued surface
  11. Apply pressure to press the two surfaces firmly – you can use your hands, clamps, or other objects that can serve as weights.
  12. Leave the pressure or the weights on for a minimum of 5-10 minutes for the glue to dry fully.
  13. Keep in mind that it takes about 24 hours for any super glue to cure fully

Conclusion

To make superglue at home, you only need styrofoam and acetone.

After you stir these together, you will have a liquid-like white paste.

Once you are finished with gluing your objects together, and if you have leftover homemade super glue, add it into a tube that has a cap with a very tight seal.

If you leave the super glue in the container, it will dry out.
